The Malaria in Pregnancy (MiP) Consortium is a global research initiative of 47 research
institutions, led by Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. The MiP Consortium chose Glow
to redesign their website which is a vital point of engagement for their global audience which
includes government policy leaders, the WHO and funders like The Bill & Melinda Gates
Foundation.

Glow redesigned the MiP Consortium website and created a unique interactive map which
allows the user to explore the global scale of the groundbreaking projects currently being
undertaken by the Consortium. The map was built with HTML5 to work with iPads and
iPhones.

Every year, Malaria kills nearly 1m people and puts 50m pregnant women at risk – the work
undertaken by the Consortium is vital to changing health policy at global, regional and
national levels in order to save lives.

The Consortium was established with an initial £30 million grant from the Bill & Melinda
Gates foundation and seeks over a six year programme to directly benefit the women globally
who face exposure to malaria whilst pregnant every year.
