Glow’s SafeTeam Lone Worker safety platform which improves safety for NHS community healthcare teams has been nominated for two sustainability awards, the Medilink Sustainability Award and the Sustainability Partnerships NHS Sustainable Software Award.

Working in partnership with Liverpool Universities Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Health Innovation North West Coast to deliver a successful STFC Cross Cluster Proof of Concept project “SafeTeam NetZero - reducing carbon in the NHS Grey Fleet” the SafeTeam platform was deployed as a pilot and extended with new capabilities to help measure, understand and reduce carbon use in the NHS.

NHS has urgent goals for carbon reduction, with the NHS NetZero Strategy stating: “For the emissions we control directly (the NHS Carbon Footprint, includes Grey Fleet), we will reach net zero by 2040, with an ambition to reach an 80% reduction by 2028 to 2032”

Over the course of the SafeTeam pilot which began in Q1 2023, safety compliance was improved from less than 35% to 100%.

100% of users said SafeTeam was Very Easy to use.

This was the third NHS pilot completed by SafeTeam and follows on from the successful commercial adoption of SafeTeam in another north west NHS hospital trust.

SafeTeam, named “one to watch" by UK DIT in the 2023 Health Playbook has previously achieved exemplary results from rigorous scientific testing by the National Physical Laboratory.
