MyLiverpoolSkyline.com is a viral marketing campaign developed with Liverpool Vision to promote Liverpool in its 800th Birthday Year.
Liverpool Vision was established to bring together key public and private sector agencies to deliver the regeneration of Liverpool city centre.
MyLiverpoolSkyline.com allows visitors to see what the skyline would look like if the Taj Mahal was in Liverpool city centre or with the worlds tallest tower – the CN Tower in Toronto – just behind the liver buildings.
So far, nine of the world's most iconic buildings can be used. They include the Eiffel Tower, the Sydney Opera House, Sir Norman Foster's "Gherkin" in London and the Statue of Liberty.
City schoolchildren and Liverpool ex-pats are also being encouraged to use the site, which allows users to download their own Liverpool skyline and save it as computer wallpaper, or just share with friends.
Peter Smith, Liverpool Vision marketing manager, said:
Visitors to our public exhibition space and website are always keen to learn more about the city’s architecture and regeneration. This seemed a fun and engaging way for people to do that. We're pleased to work with Glow New Media on the website, it demonstrates the talent we have in the city.
