Glow shortlisted, 2014 Big Chip Digital Awards

Top Liverpool Digital Agency, Glow New Media has been shortlisted in the prestigious 15th annual Big Chip awards, for Best User Experience on Liverpool Sound City.
Top Liverpool Digital Agency, Glow New Media has been shortlisted in the prestigious 15th annual Big Chip awards, for Best User Experience on Liverpool Sound City. This years Big Chip Awards saw over 300 entries, the stiffest competition to date.
This is Glow’s second inclusion in the Big Chip list, previously having been shortlisted for best e-business project with ebeepbeep and gathered other accolades such as Web User Magazine’s Best Website Award.
Liverpool Sound City is the largest international music, digital and film festival and conference in the UK, welcoming over 360 artists, in over 25 venues in Liverpool's city centre, with over 40,000 music fans and over 3000 industry professionals.
Glow created the website www.liverpoolsoundcity.co.uk and mobile app which work together to help users make sense of the packed itinerary and get the most for their time and money.
“It was particularly important to understand that the user experience was very different. before, during and after event.” Said Thom Shannon, Technical Director of Glow.
“Before the festival, users tend to be on desktops, deciding whether to go, who to see, figuring out timing conflicts, buying tickets. That tends to be done at a leisurely pace, on big screens. During event though, its frenetic! 300 bands to see, users are hitting our app and mobile sites constantly, for very short sessions. Who’s on next? Where’s the venue? Time is critical. Afterwards, they’re basking in the afterglow, sharing experiences, reliving, relistening.”

This is the second year Glow has produced Soundcity website and Mobile App. The 2013 versions were so well received, users emailed Glow and Sound City to say how much they liked them.
The awards take place on the 3rd July at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.
