The future's green - Lancaster Uni assist with greenhouse gas emissions tech

The NHS is conscious of its environmental footprint and has ambitious plans to reduce its emissions by 34% by 2020, in line with the UK Climate Change Act. Reducing emissions from NHS-related travel will be a key part of achieving this ambitious emissions reduction.
Glow New Media has been working through Lancaster University with Sustainability Consultant Intern, Elizabeth Hebbert, to develop a tool for calculating greenhouse gas emissions from car journeys.
The carbon calculation tool will be integrated into the SafeTeam Guardian software. The SafeTeam Guardian mobile app and website were developed by Glow New Media to improve the safety of lone working for NHS Community Health workers, and to provide real-time data to the NHS about their community healthcare services.
The new feature is due for release this year.
