Glow New Media were chosen for the shortlist in this year’s Big Chip Awards.

The exclusive and highly competitive awards honour firms from the north of England who have excelled in their use of digital technology.

The Best Ebusiness Category is particularly demanding, requiring entries to demonstrate that the project delivered tangible business benefits or optimised business processes.

The timing of the shortlisting for Glow is particularly gratifying, coinciding with the agency's fifth birthday. It’s also not the first accolade the project, ebeepbeep has attracted – ebeepbeep was praised by Web User Magazine as Best New Website recently and being “...wonderfully straightforward to use”.

The awards are judged by a panel of experts including Ajaz Ahmed, Founder of Freeserve, David Sproxton, cofounder of Aardman Animations, Michael Nutley, former editor-in-chief of New Media Age and Jon Myers, from Yahoo.

Shaun Fensom, Chair of Manchester Digital said “The creativity, passion and ingenuity displayed by this year’s entrants demonstrate how the digital sector has continued to grow and develop in the North, despite the tough economic climate.”

Phil Blything said “We’re thoroughly chuffed to have been shortlisted, especially in Best Ebusiness which is a category that’s right up our street.”
